Promises for difficult times (3)

‘The word of our God stands forever.’

Here are some more promises from the Bible to encourage us in difficult times:

1) ‘The Lord is your protection; you have made God Most High your place of safety. Nothing bad will happen to you; no disaster will come to your home. He has put his angels in charge of you to watch over you wherever you go’ (Psalm 91:9-11 NCV).

2) ‘The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear him, and he delivers them’ (Psalm 34:7 NIV).

3) ‘I will take refuge in the shadow of your wings until the disaster has passed’ (Psalm 57:1 NIV).

4) ‘The LORD is close to the broken-hearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit’ (Psalm 34:18 NIVUK).

5) ‘The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their prayer’ (1 Peter 3:12 NIV).

6) ‘He reached down from on high and took hold of me; he drew me out of deep waters. He rescued me from my powerful enemy, from my foes, who were too strong for me…he rescued me because he delighted in me’ (Psalm 18:16-19 NIV).

7) ‘Do not gloat over me, my enemy! Though I have fallen, I will rise. Though I sit in darkness, the LORD will be my light’ (Micah 7:8 NIV).

8) ‘Having hope will give you courage. You will be protected and will rest in safety. You will lie down unafraid, and many will look to you for help’ (Job 11:18-19 NLT).

9) ‘Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us’ (Ephesians 3:20 NIV).

 

What Now?

Over the past three days, we’ve read through a lot of Bible verses for difficult times. Keep a note of them on your phone or write them down in a notebook so you can easily share them with friends or family whenever they need encouragement.
