If you are inquisitive, passionate about responsibly sourcing accurate stories and want to present them to a loyal, family-focused audience - you could play an essential role in the UCB News team.
You’ll be reporting on national and international breaking news and recording interviews that offer a range of informed perspectives from Christian experts. No day is the same and your excellent written and oral skills will be needed to craft content suitable for a variety of UCB’s platforms, especially radio - as well as the UCB Player app, social media and podcasts. Creativity will be required, especially when writing and reading live news bulletins, recording and editing radio packages, preparing and conducting interviews and planning and delivering two-ways with presenters.
You will need:
- to have a great voice for radio
- to understand and support UCB’s vision
- to be a strong team player
- to have a good knowledge of the OFCOM Broadcasting Code and Broadcast Law
- and you will be expected to have a working knowledge of Christian organisations and Church activity in the UK and globally.
UCB News is based at the Broadcast Centre in Hanchurch, Stoke-on-Trent ST4 8RY. Your hours, based on a planned rota, may vary from week to week, working in conjunction with other colleagues. At the moment, the rota covers Monday to Friday, which may well change in the future to include some weekend working.
