Join a buzzing atmosphere during the UCB Radio Appeal!

Volunteer call takers required

UCB is a vibrant Christian charity that runs two national Christian radio stations, a free Prayerline phone service, and the UCB Word For Today (one of the largest free Christian devotionals in the UK). All of these incredible resources are funded fully by our amazing supporters.

The Appeal: For a week in November 2026, UCB Radio invites its listeners to join together for a special 5-day Appeal. During this week, we share encouraging testimonies from those whose lives have been impacted by God through UCB, and we invite listeners to help CONTINUE changing lives by sowing financially into UCB’s Christian resources.

The Role: The phones are busy with our generous supporters calling in to give, so we need YOUR help! Appeal volunteers will have the opportunity to speak to our lovely callers by answering the donation line, processing donations, and thanking callers for their gifts. Based in our offices here in Stoke-on-Trent, you will have full support while on the phones, with a relaxed and friendly Appeal Team (made up of staff and other volunteers) by your side.

If you would like to spend a few hours enjoying the fun and energy of our Appeal week, have a good clear telephone voice, and are able to record data accurately, then please apply to come and join us!

We will provide all the training and support you’ll need to make it a fun and rewarding experience. For more information, please see the role description on our website.

This position will be based at our Broadcast Centre in Hanchurch, Stoke-on-Trent. The next appeal week runs from Monday 2nd to Friday 6th November 2026 and we ask that volunteers sign up to a minimum of 5 hours across the week. Food and refreshments will be provided to all volunteers.

No cold calling, no sales – inbound calls only. Would suit anyone with open availability during standard weekday working hours.

We run appeals 3 times a year in March, June and November, as well as other opportunities available at UCB that may be of interest.
