It’s not too late

‘O God, please strengthen me just one more time.’

In prison Samson prayed: ‘Lord, remember me again. O God, please strengthen me just one more time…Then Samson put his hands on the two centre pillars that held up the temple. Pushing against them with both hands…the temple crashed down…So he killed more people when he died than he had during his entire lifetime’ (v.28-30 NLT). Samson ended up in this prison because of Delilah. The Bible says, ‘She pressured him day after day’ (v.16 AMP). Satan is persistent, and he waits to catch us in unguarded moments. That’s why there are certain doors in life we should never open. If we give in to a temptation for one single day, we can end up struggling with it for a lifetime. There’s a poster that says: ‘Every morning in Africa, a gazelle wakes up. It knows it must run faster than the fastest lion or it will be killed. Every morning a lion wakes up. It knows it must outrun the slowest gazelle or it will starve to death. It doesn’t matter whether you are a lion or a gazelle; when the sun comes up, you’d better be running.’ The good news is, Samson remembered God! And it’s a wonderful day when we remember God and reach again for Him. Samson ‘killed more people when he died than he had during his entire lifetime’ (v.30 NLT). His greatest victory was recorded in the final chapter of his life. In fact, he’s named among the heroes of faith in Hebrews 11. Regardless of where we are today, whether we’re feeling like a failure, or broken and burnt out, we must turn to God. He’ll help us turn things around. It’s never too late for God to make a difference.

What Now?

Tell God about how you’re feeling today. Thank Him if you’re having a good day, and if not, ask Him to help you stand strong against anything that could lead you away from Him and to fill you with confidence in Him.
