Trust the Creator (3)

03 October 2016

Quantum physics reveals to us the delicately-balanced rules that keep our world under control. How did they happen so perfectly? You’ve probably come across the argument that science and the Bible disagree with each other, and there’s no way to reconcile the two. But physicist Henry Margenau puts it this way: ‘There’s only one convincing answer…creation is by an omnipotent omnipresent God’. Let’s take a look at the first part of Isaiah 40:28: ‘Do you not know? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth’ (NIV). Imagine how much care God took to create such a perfectly ordered world, just for us. Now for the second part: ‘He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom’ (NIV). Nobody but God understands how the world was created and how all those intricate rules work together. And He’ll never get bored or tired of it, because He took so much care over its creation. Just think what that means for us - when we pray, we’re talking directly to the greatest power and most loving care in the universe, who understands everything. And He doesn’t want to be distant from us either - He wants to get involved and be part of our lives. So when we’ve got a problem or worry, or just need reassurance, there isn’t anyone better to run to. There isn’t anyone better to trust.

What Now?
There’s a lot of maths and science at work in nature. Go for a walk and look out for patterns in tree branches, leaves, ripples in water, and so on. Spend time enjoying the rules and order that God’s built in to His world.
