Trust the Creator (2)

Have you ever looked up at the sky and tried to imagine the absolute vastness above your head? It’s almost impossible for us to process the thought of space being so massive, and when we do, it can make us feel incredibly tiny and insignificant. And when we’re feeling insignificant, our prayer requests can sometimes seem the same way. Things like good exam results, or being anxious about a job interview, or hoping that the repairs to your car won’t be too expensive, and so on. If God, with His infinite power, created the entire universe, how He could possibly be concerned about our relatively small problems? Let’s take a look at the rest of Isaiah 40:26: ‘He who brings out the starry host one by one and calls forth each of them by name. Because of his great power and mighty strength, not one of them is missing’ (NIV). God knows each of the stars individually, and they exist because of His power. He’d notice if one of them didn’t appear. Matthew 10:29 and Luke 12:6 both talk about God even being concerned with little sparrows. He doesn't forget a single one. They’re all part of His creation, and He’s concerned about every tiny corner of it. So we can be sure He’s also concerned about us. We’re definitely not insignificant to God. And that means He’s accessible and available to listen to us if we take time to pray and invite Him into our lives. And that immense power He used to create the universe - He’ll use it for our good too.

What Now?
Put some food out for the birds, and spend some time watching them as they come to feed. As you watch them, say ‘thank you’ to God for caring about the little things and for His concern over with every tiny part of His creation.
