pThink of the act of throwing something out of a window. Think of revolution against a corrupt government. That’s what you’ve got to do with fear. Fear’s a tyrant, and it needs to be given a firm shove out of your life. In fact, God’s rolling up His sleeves to dethrone fear from your life, right now. Honest. How’s He going to manage it? Well, all revolutions have to start with a vision of a new future. So God’s going to show you what He’ll use to replace fear with in your life.br /
Look at Gideon in Judges 6. God finds timid Gideon and shows him what’s going to rule in his life. ‘Gideon, you’re a mighty man of valour!’ Valour. Valour’s on its way, Gideon. Right at that moment, Gideon wouldn’t have recognised valour if it came up and slapped him round the face. So what’s God doing here? Inviting him into a new future where fear didn’t rule. Showing Gideon a vision of the valour he’ll have instead. As God does that, He’s not saying ‘if you want this you can have it’ so much as ‘this is coming, better get ready!’ God sees the end of tyrant fear, where Gideon couldn’t ever have dreamed anything else./p
