Worship: On

02 April 2016

pThe way people do church can be pretty different. Sometimes we think the way we do things is better than others, but that’s not the case. The fact is, God listens to every style, as long as the people worshipping are willing to have their hearts tuned in to Him. Check out what John saw in Revelation 5: ‘I looked and heard the voice of many angels, numbering thousands upon thousands, and ten thousand times ten thousand. They encircled the throne and the living creatures and the elders. In a loud voice they were saying: “Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honour and glory and praise!” Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them, saying: “To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be praise and honour and glory and power, for ever and ever!”’ (vv.11-13 NIVUK). That’s some powerful, intense worship. Just picture it, ‘every tribe and language and people and nation’ (v. 9) were around the throne, all worshipping God. When we worship here, we’re already joining that chorus in heaven, while we’re still on earth. He loves to see His creation praising Him for how good He is. When your heart overflows with thankfulness it doesn’t matter how silly and loud or quiet and reserved you are. God loves to hear you just the same. /p
