Enough Of Everything
pGod gives good gifts. Sometimes we concentrate so much on the gifts that we miss the Giver. Sometimes we concentrate so much on the Giver that we miss the gifts He's joyfully giving us. But when we're comfortable in our identity as His honoured and much-loved children, we're comfortable with both the Giver and His gifts. One gift that's so easy for us to trip and fall flat over? Money. There have been some infamous church leaders who preach prosperity and buy their own private jets and swimming pools. Or, on the other end of the scale, medieval monks thinking that making yourself desperately poor brings you closer to God. When Paul writes his second letter to the Corinthians and tackles the subject of money, you'll find him at neither end of the scale. He confidently affirms that God is an endlessly generous God: like the widow Elijah met, you'll never go without. And yet the plan is never that you hoard it. God gives so that you can give. ‘God is able to provide you with every blessing in abundance, so that by always having enough of every¬thing, you may share abundantly in every good work (2 Corinthians 9:8 NRSV) What does this mean? That you’ll never be able to give so much that God can’t give more to you. You’ll never run further than God can in generosity. You’ve got freedom to be as generous - without limit - as you want to be./p

Do a bit of research. Think of a type of charity that you’d absolutely love to work for if you had the time. When you find it: donate what you’re able to, remembering that God has limitless resources for you./p
