There are various ways which you can help by volunteering for Prayerline:
Telephone Operator: By joining one of our satellite groups positioned around the UK you can assist us by praying for those who ring with prayer requests over the telephone. Prayerline is a confidential telephone ministry which does not offer counselling or advice but simply prayer. You will need to be able to listen, pray and use the Bible to minister to the caller and cope with the demands that can come with that. We receive all types of calls and they are all logged in brief, the more serious calls have to be documented in full which means you will need to be fully literate and have a reasonable command of English. Full training will be given. We try to offer our volunteers a satellite as logistically close to them as possible, if this is not possible would you consider starting a satellite in your area?
Mail Prayer Requests: Prayer requests would be posted to you for you to pray over. No written responses would be required from you. This does not necessitate any direct contact with the person requesting prayer. This work would be carried out in your home.
Email Prayer Requests: Prayer requests would be sent to you via an automated service for which you need a computer with broadband connectivity. No written responses would be required from you. This does not necessitate any direct contact with the person requesting prayer. This work would be carried out in your home.
