Don’t stop believing
Has God promised you something, but you can’t see any way that it could possibly happen? Are you finding it difficult to wait for God? We’ve all felt like this at times, but the Bible reminds us: ‘If it seems slow…wait patiently, for it will surely take place.’ God does things to His perfect schedule, and He doesn’t forget His promises to us. When He gives us a promise, it’s like a seed. First it must fall into the fertile soil of faith and be given time to grow. Then it must be watered regularly through prayer and the Word of God. It won’t happen any faster because we try to push or manipulate the situation: ‘It is not by force nor by strength, but by my spirit, says the LORD’ (Zechariah 4:6 NLT). If God has promised you something, trust His Word and remind yourself, ‘My life can’t end before this comes to pass.’ The story of Joseph’s life could be summed up in this Scripture: ‘Until the time that his word came to pass, the word of the LORD tested him’ (Psalm 105:19 NKJV). When we test something, we reveal its strength and see if it holds up or falls apart under pressure. If we have a weak faith, God won’t give up on us, but He will put us through experiences (sometimes tough ones) that teach us and help us to strengthen our faith. ‘Without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him’ (Hebrews 11:6 NLT). So don't give up if things don’t seem to be happening - believe and trust God.
What Now?
Have a think about your own faith. Does it hold up under pressure, or do you start to have doubts when you’re waiting for God to move? Ask God to help you strengthen your faith, and thank Him for His tests.
