Catherine Ball

I'm a journalist with the UCB News Team.

Join me from 2pm till 5pm Sundays on UCB 1. The weekend show features: topical interviews as we look back on the big news/current affairs stories of the week. Plus entertainment news, film reviews, sports and much more!

Vicky Gibbens

Vicky is UCB’s News and Current Affairs Editor and has worked as a broadcast journalist for more than a decade. She says ‘Radio news is instantaneous, ever changing and certainly keeps me on my toes. It is a privilege and an amazing opportunity to serve God through my work at UCB.’ Before joining UCB, Vicky worked for a local council and at a building society (despite not liking maths). She also loves Jaffa Cakes!

Abi Gregory

Abi studied Radio and Media at university and then worked in marketing for a Christian music and publishing company before joining the UCB team. She loves being able to play great music and explore life and faith with listeners. Abi also loves a bargain – she says: ‘Trawling the charity shops is one of my favourite pastimes. My family never know what I’m going to come home with!’

Paul Hammond

Talking Point is a Current Affairs programme that looks at the world around us and asks “What is going on?” We talk about most subjects, even the difficult ones, because we believe that our faith and our God has something to say on everything that affects the human condition. So if, like me, you believe - to paraphrase a statement in the Bible book of James -  true religion is to make sure people in need know there is an answer in Jesus, let’s dig a little deeper into how faith applies in the real world. Tune in and say what you really think.

Steve Best

I’m Steve and music is a huge part of my life. I have worked as a professional musician - so working in Christian music radio often feels like a holiday!

You can join me weekdays from 5am for Breakfast, starting the day with encouragement, a challenge and a smile. I can also be heard on Saturdays from 10am for The Saturday Show, with all the music and features you need to get your weekend rolling. Wednesday night at 10pm I also bring you Music News, with the latest on new album releases, tours, song stories and exclusive brand new tracks.

Ruth O'Reilly-Smith

Ruth says: ‘I love that in creating space for powerful stories to be told on the radio, I get to meet some truly great and inspiring people.’ Before coming to UCB, Ruth worked as a supply teacher as well as in radio in South Africa and the UK. She is the mother of twins, and when they were 18-months-old, the family relocated to Dubai, where Ruth would record a radio show for UCB in her bedroom while the twins were having a nap!

Anne Henderson

Anne loves the privilege of being on air in the mornings just when people are waking up, and she also loves being able to play music that encourages, inspires, and helps us to praise and worship God. Before becoming a presenter, Anne worked as a domestic at her local hospital. She loves drinking tea and discovering new teashops (and maybe tasting the cake too!).

Samuel Ball

Join me weekdays from 4pm on UCB 2 for Worship Today. Helping you to take stock of the day as we worship together, the perfect way to ease you into your evening.

I also present The Southern Gospel Spotlight (Tuesday’s from 7pm), a weekly look at the very best in Southern Gospel music, artist interviews and industry news. I’ll also keep you company on a Sunday afternoon from 2pm with great music, reflective topics and a bible quiz.

Dave Tanner

Before coming to UCB, Dave previously spent 10 years working on a commercial radio breakfast show, where he was an on-air sidekick – some of his more memorable experiences include presenting on top of a horse, eating the world’s hottest chilli, and playing tennis with Tim Henman. Dave says: ‘To have an opportunity to share the good news of Jesus each week on the radio is a huge privilege, and it challenges me every week to go deeper in my faith and understanding of the Bible.’
