Know how to craft an eye-catching tweet? Understand how to really grab attention with a Facebook post? You could be the person we’re looking for in this full time role as Social Media Coordinator. 

UCB has a lively presence on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram and we reach well over 1 million people each month, with our fun posts and inspiring Biblically-based content. We’re looking for a self-starter, who can help us take the platforms to the next level. 

You’ll be a stickler for detail, be a brilliant speller have an ability to craft upbeat posts and will really enjoy the challenge of live engagement with all our followers. You will ideally have graphic design experience, with the ability to create images, in line with UCB’s brand guidelines. 

You’ll be joining UCB at a key point in its history, as we build for the future. This is an integral role for a highly organised person, who takes their work seriously, but who would enjoy being part of a fun, lively and creative team, working in the middle of an open plan, media/broadcast centre. 

This position is based at the UCB Broadcast Centre in Hanchurch Lane, Hanchurch, Stoke on Trent,ST4 8RY, although we would be willing to consider remote working for the right candidate.

Our Broadcast Centre in Hanchurch is blessed to be in the heart of beautiful countryside. As a result, our gardens, grounds and buildings require constant attention in order to maintain them in keeping with the surrounding natural environment.

We are looking for a skilled and experienced gardener with enthusiasm and willingness, who will work well as part of a small team and be prepared to take on additional responsibility as the need of the team dictates.

This is an exciting role to help reinforce the IT function within our growing charity.  The post holder will execute a variety of tasks including the extraction and preparation of data from our CRM database, executing regular and bespoke reporting requirements and investigating data issues within operational systems.

We are looking for someone who works well as part of a team and interacts effortlessly with others in order to resolve technical issues, so good communication and a strong customer focus is essential.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in computer science or be able to demonstrate equivalent experience; have excellent problem solving skills; good knowledge of SQL with experience of writing complex queries and the ability to understand complex business processes and how data relates to them.

Advantageous skills required; experience of Windows server and/or SQL server administration, web-services and data interface development.

This position is based at our Hanchurch site in Stoke-on-Trent but travel to our Burslem site will also be necessary.

Freelance Radio Presenter
Location: UCB Broadcast Centre, Hanchurch Lane, Hanchurch , Stoke-on-Trent , ST4 8RY

Are you a Christian with significant experience as a music format radio presenter?

UCB is always interested to hear from freelance presenters who could provide occasional cover for various shows on UCB 1 or UCB 2.
The role could involve presenting live weekday programmes but would certainly include recording programmes during the week, as required.

A genuine interest and working knowledge of contemporary Christian music is vital.

Experience of the Zetta playout system would be useful but not essential, as training would be given.

You will be expected to adhere to United Christian Broadcasters’ vision and purpose and be a willing team player with a positive attitude.

The Broadcast Centre is close to Stoke-on-Trent (ST4 8RY) so you would need your own transport.

UCB’s Broadcast Centre has a lively and busy ‘front-of-house’ Reception desk. Our receptionist takes calls, answers queries, greets guests and assists with other administrative jobs, such as looking after the post and responding to listener’s emails and texts. It’s a busy and rewarding role and we’re looking to build up a bank of casual receptionists, who can be called on at short notice, to cover holiday or sickness cover. The ideal candidate will have a flexible schedule and will be able to work at very short notice. If you’re a natural ‘people person’ and can easily multi-task in a busy environment, this could be the ideal flexible role for you. If selected, we will add you to our roster of staff who can be called on, when needed.

UCB is donor supported, which means that our broadcasts, daily devotionals, Prayerline and other services are only made possible thanks to the prayer and financial support of UCB’s listeners, readers and viewers. For a week in November, UCB radio invites its listeners to join us for a special five day broadcast as we share encouraging testimonies of lives impacted through UCB. As part of the week we provide an opportunity for our listeners to support the work of UCB through financial giving.

Over recent years our listeners have been overwhelmingly generous and this has led to a greater demand on our telephone team. As a result we are looking for friendly and enthusiastic individuals who are willing to join ‘the phone zone’ team who answer telephone calls from our listeners, receive encouraging comments and testimonies and take donations in support of the work of UCB.  

If you would like to spend a few hours enjoying the fun and energy of our radio appeal week, have strong telephone communication skills and are computer literate with the ability to input data accurately then please come and join us.  We will provide all the training and support you will need to ensure this is an enjoyable and rewarding experience. This position will be based at our offices in Burslem, Stoke-on-Trent. The appeal week runs from 6am to 7pm every day from 4th November to 8th November 2019 and we ask that volunteers sign up to a minimum of 5 hours across the week. Free meals will be provided to volunteers.

UCB is looking for an enthusiastic volunteer to help with the administration of our Health and Safety systems across both of our sites in Burslem and Hanchurch, as well as assisting with routine H&S checks and tests.

The ideal volunteer must be well organised, able to use their initiative and work accurately. Good communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential and you should be confident in the use of a computer. Any necessary training to fulfil the role will be given. You must have a full driving licence as our site at Hanchurch is not serviced by regular public transport.


 

 

Church engagement volunteer

Want to meet new people and visit local churches in your area?  We might have the perfect volunteer position for you!  The UCB Church Engagement Team is looking for friendly and outgoing individuals, who can accompany UCB Ambassadors to speaking events in different regions across the UK and offer them support.  

Your responsibilities will include attending the event with one of our Ambassadors, setting up and running a UCB stand and helping to introduce UCB to lots of new people. 

The ideal volunteers will be people who are happy to offer their time at occasional weekend events (usually within reasonable travelling distance of their home), have access to a car and enjoy the challenge of chatting to new people.  As you’ll be setting up a UCB stand you will need to be reasonably fit and active. You may also be asked to pray for people, therefore it's a requirement that Church Engagement volunteers are committed Christians in good standing with a local church.   You'll be fully trained and supported and there is a budget for mileage and food expenses.

Volunteer - Company Wide Positions
 
United Christian Broadcasters has some exciting opportunities for enthusiastic individuals who are passionate about UCB and the work that we do. If you have a few hours to spare each week and want to get involved in helping advance God's Kingdom then we want to hear from you!

We currently have volunteer positions at both our Operations Centre in Burslem and Broadcasting Centre in Hanchurch. Our departments are diverse and require a range of people with different skills and abilities; you could be involved in tasks such as booking guests for a radio show, researching content for one of our publications, helping keep our buildings clean or packing material to be sent out to supporters.

We are looking for reliable volunteers who can contribute to the work of the ministry. If you have good communication skills, are well organised, reliable and can work independently or as a team player then come and get involved! Some roles will require volunteers who are computer literate or have good administration skills; whatever your abilities we would love to hear from you.
