TODAY'S WORD 4U 2DAY
YOU’RE AN EXAMPLE OF CHRIST: REPRESENT (3)1 Timothy 4:12
How we act tells others who we listen to. Look at the story of Noah in the Bible. He set about building an ark of mammoth proportions to save his family, while in the company of people who thought he’d utterly lost it! Still, he chose not to listen to them. He carried on listening to God, and forty days and nights later, it saved his and his family’s lives.
But that wasn’t the end of the story. Noah’s character really shone through immediately after the flood. The first thing Noah did when it was all over was to build an altar to the Lord, a physical object that showed his gratefulness to God. An altar, even before a home. He gave thanks before doing anything else. We all have homes, we’re provided with food, air, and a ground to walk on; but, many of us don’t even make time to pray our thanks. “…. all our busy rushing ends in nothing” (Psalm 39:6) So let gratefulness shape the way you live your life. The Bible says, ‘Don’t copy the behaviour and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think.’ (Romans 12:1 NLT.) That starts with gratefulness. Recognise the gifts from God in your life, like Noah did.
Jesus tells us that our life is filled with examples of God’s care for us (See Matthew 6: 28-34.) Take it slow and look for them. Everything beautiful begins with God. Every good thing in your life has its start in Him. There is enough time today to give Him thanks.
