Promises for difficult times (1)

‘The word of our God stands forever.’ Isaiah 40:8 NKJV

We all have to face challenging times. Sometimes it might be unpleasant or inconvenient, but we manage to get through it. Other times, everything just seems like it’s threatening to swamp us. But whatever we’re going through, one thing stays the same - God’s promises to us. So, for the next few days, let’s remind ourselves of some of the promises from His Word, so we’re prepared and strengthened when challenges come. 1) ‘No weapon that is used against you will defeat you. You will show that those who speak against you are wrong. These are the good things my servants receive’ (Isaiah 54:17 NCV). 2) ‘Never again will you fear any harm…The LORD your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will…deal with all who oppressed you’ (Zephaniah 3:15-19 NIV). 3) ‘Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or discouraged because of the king…With him is only the arm of flesh, but with us is the LORD our God to help us…fight our battles’ (2 Chronicles 32:7-8 NIV). 4) ‘My soul finds rest in God; my salvation comes from him...he is my fortress, I will never be shaken’ (Psalm 62:1-2 NIV). 5) ‘Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything; tell God your needs, and don’t forget to thank him for his answers. If you do this you will experience God’s peace, which is far more wonderful than the human mind can understand’ (Philippians 4:6-7 TLB). 6) ‘I am sure that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor ruling spirits, nothing now, nothing in the future, no powers, nothing above us, nothing below us, nor anything else in the whole world will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord’ (Romans 8:38-39 NCV).

What now?
Which of those promises do you feel God’s saying to you right now? Get some paper and write it down in large letters, then fix it up somewhere you’ll see it regularly, like your bedroom door or on the fridge.
