TODAY'S WORD 4U 2DAY
WALKING ON WATER (2)Matthew 14:24
‘The boat was…buffeted by the waves because the wind was against it’ Matthew 14:24 NIV
There’s a great little saying that goes like this: ‘When you can’t trace His hand, you can trust His heart.’ It’s a good thing to remember when you feel that God might have abandoned you. We can’t always see what God’s doing to apparently ‘work all things for good’. But we are called to, ‘…walk by faith, not by sight’ (2 Corinthians 5:7 NKJ).
While the disciples were freaking out on the water, hearts full of fear, where was Jesus? Actually, He was up a mountain praying for them, not taking a siesta. At every stage He was their mediator and their ‘need meet-er’ and He’s ours too. And then He came and met them. Up until then though, they couldn’t see a thing. Real faith begins where our natural senses end, believing that Jesus has one hand on your need and the other on your answer. Just being positive might make you feel good, but it won't change your circumstances; having faith in Jesus is having faith in a Person – a Person who is always good, and entirely trustworthy. And when we trust beyond our natural means, He steps in.
This isn’t just about believing in the existence of God (although that’s a part of it). The faith Jesus wants is a relational trust in Him, more like the faith of a child in its parents; ask yourself if you have that!
