TODAY'S WORD 4U 2DAY
'...So they came forward and placed their feet on their necks'Joshua 10:24 NIV
PUT YOUR FOOT DOWN (2)
Sometimes life's a battle. Just when you feel like you're making advances, there's a hand grenade coming at you from round the corner. Great! Joshua probably felt pretty overwhelmed himself. Taking on one army's one thing, but to have five come at you is asking a bit much. And without God, it would be a bit much. But this is God.
Can't multi-task? God can! Is life piling on the pressure? God wants you to stand solid in Him. The Bible says 'We live by faith, not by sight.' (2 Corinthians 5:7 NIV) which means that we're not going to know how it's all going to pan out, how God's going to provide, whether certain things will turn out the way we hope or expect. But God is with us through it all. In fact, He promises He will 'never leave you [or] abandon you.' (Hebrews 13:5 NCV) and He never goes back on a promise.
Looking at our life with our own tiny human perspective only reveals part of God's big picture. The grand old duke of York had ten thousand men, but they were up, down and all over the place! Emotions are no different. Instead of using your natural senses to determine your destiny, trust in God. Go back to the Bible and ask Him to speak into your life and show you the way forward.
In the New King James Version of the Bible the phrase 'Fear not' is mentioned 129 times. You might find it helpful to say out loud and repeat the phrase 'Be strong and very courageous' so it seeps into your core.
