TODAY'S WORD 4U 2DAY

GOING IT ALONE? (1)

Numbers 11:14

‘What did I do to deserve this? What a right bunch of moaners! Have you heard what they want now - garlic! Melons! Cucumbers! Sheesh, I’m not Ainsley Harriot. How about choosing someone else for a change God, ‘cos I am through with them!’

This might not seem like a very appropriate prayer from a servant of the Most High God, the man chosen to receive the Ten Commandments, but this was indeed Moses - starring in his very own episode of, ‘I’m a Leader, Get Me Out of Here!’

The pressure had become too much. But God had some advice: ‘Gather together seventy men … I'll take some of the Spirit that is on you and place it on them; they'll then be able to take some of the load of this people—you won't have to carry the whole thing alone’ (vv.16–17 TM).

Being a lone ranger can make you easy pickings for the enemy. So look around, pray, and share your load.

What now?

Belonging to a small group of Christians who can support you when life gets rough (and when it’s just everyday up-and-downs) can be very helpful.  If you’re not a member of one, ask your church about joining one.
