TODAY'S WORD 4U 2DAY
GIANT SLAYER'...Arise ... go ... to the land which I am giving to (you)...' Joshua 1:2 NKJ
God isn't a bored factory worker with a fag in His mouth, watching your life rolling along like a box on a squeaky conveyer belt. Actually, God's more likely to leap on to the conveyer belt, rip open your box, reveal what's inside and free you from a journey that's dull and predictable.
Is God calling you into something or somewhere new? Whether it's moving to a new school, a new home or a whole new way of living, any kind of change can freak us out. A change of scenery on the stage of your life can lead to fear creeping in, like a giant at a Jack and the Beanstalk panto.
God knew Joshua would get scared when he understood what God was telling him to do: 'You and all these people get ready to cross the Jordan River into the land I am about to give to them.' So God said three times that Joshua would need to be strong and courageous and on the third time said, 'Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.' Remember that God goes with you too. Do you have some giants of fear? With God you can do more than just disable them - you can knock them dead!
At the beginning of Joshua (1:1-9), God gives some sound advice on how to go about moving into his new home and situation. Look out for His advice if you're in a changing situation like Joshua.
