TODAY'S WORD 4U 2DAY
‘…We have seen His glory…’John 1:14 NIV
Gospel Truth. We hear that phrase loads, but what does it mean?
First up, let’s look at Truth. Truth is not just the idea of fact over fiction; Truth is not just words or beliefs; and Truth is not just an individual viewpoint. Truth can be seen from many angles, but Truth, in essence, is one Man— Jesus.
The four gospels – Matthew, Mark, Luke and John – can be read individually, but to get an accurate picture of Jesus we should read all four in relation to each other. The beauty of this is that each gospel looks at different aspects of Jesus, His works, His personality and His teachings. They all complement each other by looking at a different side of Truth. They do not argue against each other, but they build each other up. They do not fight against each other, but together they complete the story of God-in-the-form-of-man.
The ones who wrote the gospels saw Jesus’s Glory when He came to earth, and they have written so we can also see His Glory!
Have a think about reading through the gospels again. What different sides of Jesus do you see in each one?
