TODAY'S WORD 4U 2DAY
‘…We do not know what to do, but we are looking to you for help’2 Chronicles 20:12 NLT
DECISIONS (1) – CRISIS!
Every day we have millions of choices to make: what time to get up, what to have for breakfast, what to put on our Facebook status? Some choices are easier than others and we can make a quick decision without a thought. But other times they seem nothing less than a mini-crisis! Running around like a headless chicken or burying your head in the sand hoping it’ll go away will ensure things get worse, not better.
King Jehoshaphat faced a crisis. The Moabites and Ammonites were massing their troops in preparation for an all-out assault on Judah. Jehoshaphat had every right to be afraid, withdrawn, worried and indecisive. But instead he led the way for us all in how to handle a crisis moment. Jehoshaphat called all the people together to ask God for help, a day of prayer for everyone: ‘All the men of Judah stood before the Lord with their little ones, wives and children’ (2 Chronicles 20:13 NLT). It was a prayer meeting involving every member of the family. When stuck in a crisis, not knowing what to do, Jehoshaphat prayed, ‘We do not know what to do, but we are looking to you for help.’ And we need to do the same.
How’s this for an idea? Arrange to meet up with your friends or family and pray together about the things each of you need help with.
